In an effort to answer the challenges of recovery due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all countries that are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) should work together.

ASEAN is an international organization, so the existence of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) must certainly be able to overshadow its goal as the largest integration effort being attempted in the developing world (Narine: 1997). If all of this could be realized it would create a single market with free movement of goods, services, foreign direct investment and skilled labour, and freer movement of capital covering nearly 600 million people.
ASEAN which was founded on August 8, 1967 has experienced a very long journey but has not yet achieved significant results (Susilo: 2012). Therefore, a strong commitment from ASEAN Member States is needed in dealing with and discussing ASEAN strategic issues in the future. One of them is what role ASEAN will play in Indonesia's priority agenda carried out during the G20 Presidency through the theme Recover Stronger, Recover Together, which is very much in line with issues in ASEAN.
